Motorola’s new 4G-equipped Moto E goes on sale today for $149

Motorola’s new 4G-equipped Moto E goes on sale today for $149

Launching your shiny new smartphone at MWC seems to be so passé this year that Motorola has become the latest manufacturer to let its latest mid-range offering out of the bag a little early.

Taking over where the 2014 Moto E left off, this year’s model most notably includes 4G connectivity whereas the previous did not. Other key specs include a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display, 5-megapixel camera on the rear and a 2,390mAh battery that promises to “last a full day,” according to Motorola.

It’s also packing the latest Lollipop version of the Android OS, and can be customized through the use of colored bands or shells. The phone itself comes in black or white, while the Motorola Bands are offered in six different colors, including turquoise and raspberry.

The company said the device will be available in more than 50 countries in Latin America, North America, Europe and Asia from today. It will set you back $149. The 3G version will cost $119.
