Mobile photography experts will gather next week for San Francisco meetup

Every smartphone on the planet has a camera, sometimes more than one. And for every smartphone camera, there are – it would seem – a bazillion apps you can use to shoot, edit, store and share photos as well as fashion them into albums, books, postcards, cookies, you name it.

The folks that actually make these apps are converging in San Francisco next week for the second annual Mobile Photo Connect conference. This gathering of executives and entrepreneurs will take place on Wednesday, October 15 at the Fort Mason Conference Center, featuring show and tell presentations.

More than 130 photo app developers, imaging companies, mobile vendors, and industry participants from Asia, Europe and the Americas will also be on hand.

The conference will showcase brand new apps as well as upgrades to existing apps via presentations from such companies as Applied Recognition, AtomKnows, BeFunky, CanvasPop, Eversnap, Joindrop – Onepastfive, Krome Photos, Looksery, MailPix, Orbeus, PhotoGurus, Pixicle, Quirl, Sky Mobile Technologies, Takes, Taopix, and Walgreens.

That’s not all. In addition to new products, two in-depth discussion panels will cover topics like The future of photo organizing: from manual to deep learning and The future of storytelling: from sharing photos to sharing experiences. Panelists include Matthew Zeiler, founder and CEO of Clarifai, Naren Dubey, CEO of PhotoGurus, Chris Lee, product manager at Dropbox, Mok Oh, co-founder and CEO of Moju Labs, Reid Genauer, CMO at Magisto and others.

Mobile Photo Connect is co-hosted by GigaOm analyst Hans Hartman, president of Suite 48 Analytics and Alexis Gerard, founder of Future Image and the 6Sight Future of Imaging Conference.

Want to get in on the action? There’s still time, as registration is open until the end of the day on Tuesday (Pacific Time). More information and registration details are available on the Mobile Photo Connect website. Tickets cost $499.
