It looks like Microsoft is also exploring browser alternatives to IE (Internet Explorer).

According to ZDNet, the company is working on a lighter-weight browser that supports extensions similar to Chrome and Firefox. The new browser, codenamed Spartan, will ship alongside IE with Windows 10 according to ZDNet sources.

We might get a peek at the browser at the January 21 Windows 10 event in Redmond, Washington. We’ll be reporting live from the event and hopefully we’ll have news of a speedier browser.
