Microsoft sends out invites for Windows 10 event at headquarters on January 21

After showing off Windows 10 at an event in San Francisco and then offering a downloadable preview, Microsoft is ready to unveil a bit more about the next iteration of its operating system.

Today, the company sent out invitations to the media titled “Join us to hear about the next chapter of Windows 10.” The event will take place at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington on January 21 and it looks to be a deep dive into Windows 10. The event will start at 9:00am PT.

The presentation portion of the event will be livestreamed.

In September, Microsoft unveiled a technical build of Windows 10 that was available for download to the public. The update moved the Live Tiles from the splash screen in Windows 8 and put them within the Start button. The updated OS also seems better optimized for power users with the OS X Mission Control-like feature, Task View and a super-charged alt-tab key command.
