Microsoft just started airing its new “great time to be a family” advertisements on TV in the United States, according to a report by WinRumors. The two ads are produced by Crispin Porter & Bogusky and are all about how the different Microsoft products can be brought together in various ways.
In the one titled “Epic Fail”, we have a dad dancing for the Dance Central 2 game on the Kinect and the kids snapping up a video of the action using their Windows Phone 7 phone and posting it to YouTube using—you guessed it—a Windows-based PC.

Similarly, we have “Dog.PPT”, where a spunky kid tries to convince his parents why it would be a good idea to bring a dog into the family using a PowerPoint presentation.

We brought you word about the impending launch of this campaign last week and, compared to the company’s previous efforts, we think it is a winner. It’s not Microsoft deceptively trying to convince you that Vista is cooler than all the evidence suggests it is, it’s not them putting Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld together in two very painful videos and, thankfully, they aren’t promoting “two chicks at once” this time around.
It’s just Microsoft trying to put a smile on your face as you watch a dad prancing around his living room and a husband begging his wife to let him go golfing using a PowerPoint presentation. We think that they are pretty good, but we are also cognisant of the fact that it may not be a popular opinion. We’d love to hear how you liked these ads; sound off in the comments below.
