License123 helps you find and file all the licenses, permits and DBAs you need to launch a company

Document-sharing service DocStoc has updated its License123 service and now small businesses can access the database site to find not only the licenses and permits needed to launch a company anywhere around the United States, but also get “Doing Business As” (DBA)  information and paperwork.

Last year, the company debuted at the LAUNCH conference, but was only focused on being a research service, displaying license and permit information businesses needed to be compliant. Now, it not only has a database of DBA forms, but is offering a service to help with the paperwork and filings for small businesses.

Typically, when a business gets started, there are lots of things to do, including finding the necessary paperwork and submitting them to the proper agency or government. Most entrepreneurs may hire a lawyer who will need to do the research and then help complete and file the forms on their behalf — this winds up being rather expensive and reducing the amount of capital a business has in its early years. License123 eliminates the legwork and streamlines this process through the use of a monthly subscription.

Each industry has its own set of permits and licenses that need to be completed. Tack that on to the different city and state government forms that exist and it can give anyone a dreadful headache. DocStock’s founder and CEO Jason Nazar says that the site has documents for every kind of small business in the United States — manufacturing, law firms, consulting, food trucks, and more.

License123 also includes Doing Business As (DBA) filings, which help to make it easier to register a fictitious business name. The company says that businesses can find out instantly what they’ll need to get started to register, find the right forms, and make the name legal in any state, county, and city.

There are multiple plans available on the site and vary depending on a business’s needs. For unlimited access to licences and permits, along with its nationwide DBA database, License123 will charge $19.95 per month. In addition, the service also provides two filing service options:  full-service permit and license ($199) or full-service DBA filing ($99). The company says that each plan includes full access to the database. However, one thing to note is that these costs do not include city, county, and state government fees, so anyone who uses these services will have to pay a bit extra.

With the filing service, License123’s specialists contact the businesses to help walk them through the process and ensure that all items are filed correctly and quickly. The service will not be the ones completing the forms for you.

License123 is the latest service from DocStoc to help the small business get started. The company has over 30 million registered users and is sharing at least 25 million documents on its main site. Last year, Nazar announced that DocStoc has implemented a video course to help businesses gleam insights on various topics relating to running a business.

While it’s quite possible to find the license and permits needed on DocStoc, License123 seems to have extrapolated all the relevant and useful documentation and consolidated it into a single place for businesses to reference.
