It feels like kindergarten tonight at LeWeb, when Loic Le Meur announced the 1st Prize winners tonight in Paris. Why? Because everybody wins! 1st Prize for Virality went to Paper.li; 1st Prize for Technology to Waze and 1st Prize for Originality to Super-Marmite.
While we are all left feeling warm and fuzzy, the “everybody wins” angle is slightly demeaning to those who won. The big award tonight was clearly the Start-Up Audience Choice Award. Out of the 16 companies who competed, the 2010 Start-Up Audience Choice Award was awarded to CityM, a peer-to-peer car sharing system, who could use some help with SEO.
