Latest iPhone 7 rumor is just as sketchy as the rest of them

Latest iPhone 7 rumor is just as sketchy as the rest of them

Even before the iPhone 6S officially launched, we’d been hearing about the iPhone 7. While we’re not expecting Apple to launch the device ahead of the Fall, there are still a lot of rumors floating around, and they all seem like garbage.

The latest sketchy rumor involves actual sketches, where a site named uSwitch (which I appropriately discovered via MacRumors) showed off some schematics for what they believe is the next iPhone. Both the 7 and 7 Plus are purportedly shown, with some minor tweaks.

Oddly enough, this ‘latest’ rumor follows other rumors that discuss some of the design features noted in the design. Amazing! After some rumors regarding the iPhone 7, we have a drawing showing those design changes off.

That's not the iPhone 7, but feel free to say it is.

What are the chances, right?!

The latest drawings show an iPhone 7 with no headphone jack, and a 7 Plus with a larger camera cutout a Smart Connection port. Man, does that feel familiar or what?

I’m not claiming to know what the iPhone 7 is or isn’t, either. But someone who’s really good at autoCAD — and pays attention to the rumor mill — could duplicate this with ease. Fun fact: The filename of the original drawings, which you’ll find at the top of this article, are “iPhone-7-CAD” and “iPhone-7-Plus-CAD.”

And uSwitch is a fairly obscure place to distribute a leaked schematic, especially since it was said to be handed over by Steve Hemmerstoffer of OnLeaks, who also runs nowhereelse.fr.

The drawings allegedly originated at Catcher Technologies, which is a casing manufacturer known to be an Apple supply chain partner. Unfortunately, we can’t find any corroborating leaks for the iPhone 6 to compare these to, which Catcher was also responsible for.

What we’re left with is a visualization of some rumors. That doesn’t make it any more or less believable, so don’t get too worked up.
