Microsoft is once again making a foray into the world of iOS, releasing a Kinectimals companion game to the existing title on the Xbox Kinect platform. The news, tweeted out by Microsoft’s Major Nelson, brings about the second major Xbox-related release for Apple’s iOS platform.

The first release, My Xbox Live for iOS, allowed Xbox Live subscribers to manage their avatars, send messages and compare achievements. With Kinectimals, Microsoft is taking things a step further, according to the release notes:
“If you’ve already experienced Kinectimals on Kinect for Xbox 360, your phone becomes the key to unlocking five new cubs on your console.”
The game itself will run you $2.99 but it looks reasonably entertaining, and the cross-platform system is another impressive move from Microsoft.
