Jay-Z’s deal to buy Tidal and WiMP goes through, problems back down to 99

Jay-Z’s deal to buy Tidal and WiMP goes through, problems back down to 99

Back in January, we reported that Jay Z was looking to buy Swedish music streaming company Aspiro, which owns Tidal and WiMP, for $56 million. But then last week, those motions were apparently blocked by Aspiro’s minority shareholders who hold 10 percent of the company.

Things are now back in order. Today was the deadline for the offer, and it was accepted according to Swedish publication E24. It’s not clear if changes were made to the deal to appease the minority shareholders.

We don’t yet know what the rapper intends to do with the streaming services, but at least Jay’s back to just 99 problems now.
