Issue v1.7 – Want: Apps

Serenity

Use Serenity to conduct a soaring symphony in your brain – you’ll arrive at a more relaxed state in no time. At $1.99, the app boasts an incredible list of ‘destination’ soundtracks: a sound bath, waterfall or soothing sleep aids, all with the intention to make you as calm and composed as possible. Take a break from the pressures of everyday life and feel these sounds drift into your subconscious for a completely immersive full-on experience. Our verdict: worth the 2 bucks.

White Noise Lite

The app to trump all (or most) calm-the-eff-down apps, White Noise Lite is the ultimate in relaxation and quality sleep aids, using ambient environmental sounds to soothe your mind, a digital clock with varying colors and brightness levels – so you can sit it on your nightstand in lieu of that old alarm clock – and the ability to sync your volume controls, preferences and mixed sound playlists to Bluetooth or other Apple devices. No wonder Dr. Oz loves it; so do we!

Calm

Stressed out types need download. The app will help you discover what creates your sense of ‘calm’, which can seem like a no-brainer…but isn’t. Choose a calming session and enjoy sounds meant to link up with your breath for meditation-oriented experience you’ll keep coming back to.
Free to download, but we recommend the 6-month pro option at $6.99 for the best in-app use.
