The rumors are true: Google Play now lets you share purchases with up to six people.
Announced at Google I/O, Family Library is a lot like Apple’s Family Plan. It lets you share apps, movies, TV shows and books with up to six accounts — and an endless number of Android devices.
Family Library also lets you choose which items you want to share, and which are best suited for privacy. It’s also free, save for individual purchases.
For Family Library, one credit card must be chosen as a default form of payment. Users can choose to pay for things on their own using a credit or gift card.
Parents with kids can also choose to approve each purchase, if they like.
Google previously rolled out the ability to share Music and YouTube Red subscriptions, which carries a $14.99 monthly fee. Starting today, Google is also letting users sign up for Play Music family plans on the Web as well as in the app.
