Google today announced it is shutting down its Helpouts support community on April 20, 2015.
Helpouts launched in 2013 as a way for users to get expert advice and solutions for a variety of problems using live video feeds. Experts set their own price, and were paid through Google Wallet (Google took a 20 percent cut).
While Google says the community “includes some engaged and loyal contributors,” it simply didn’t grow at the pace the company expected in order to viably support it.
Once the service shuts down in April, you’ll be able to download your Helpouts history using Google Takeout until November 1 of this year.
