Google released the Samsung Chromebook in India today, following the HP Chromebook 14 and Acer C720 in October. The 11.6-inch Chrome OS-powered device is on sale for 26,990 INR (438 USD) in select Reliance Digital and Croma stores, and online at Flipkart and Cromaretail.com.
In the US and the UK, the Samsung Chromebook remains one of the best-selling laptops on Amazon. The low price-tag, coupled with the form factor of a traditional laptop makes this compact computer, along with many other Chromebooks, a compelling choice for anyone who spends the majority of their time browsing or working on the Web.
The Samsung Chromebook packs in a 1.7GHz Exynos 5 dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD for storage, as well as 100GB of free Google Drive storage over the first two years. The device is a little long in the tooth – it was originally unveiled way back in October 2012 – but we expect it’ll be a popular choice in India all the same.
