Google-backed Waze navigation app updated with new features including ‘Send Location’ option

Google-backed Waze navigation app updated with new features including ‘Send Location’ option

The Google-owned, socially-sourced navigation app Waze for iOS and Android has been updated with a raft of new features today.

Among the new headline features is an option which allows users to share a specific location with friends at the click of a button – whether that’s your current location, your destination or your home/work address. The option also allows you to send previous destinations to friends directly from your history list.

Also introduced by the update to Waze 3.8 is the option to add friends to your account from your phone’s contact list and new options for more easily sharing your drive. For example, you can now share a drive with a specific person (or more than one person) by tapping their photo in your Waze contacts list.

Other updates include new user profiles, again, making it easier to manage your account and friends list and a few UI tweaks designed to make the experience a little more seamless.

The new version is available to download now on Android and iOS. Sadly, there’s no mention of the same features for Windows Phone just yet.
