Giphy Cam brings its GIF creation and special effects magic to Android

After more than a year since its iOS release, Giphy Cam has arrived on Android to help you create outrageous GIFs with effects, stickers and other nifty add-ons.

As with the iOS version, Giphy Cam lets you record video (either a standard clip or a short one for easy looping) and spice it up by applying filters, animated stickers, frames, backgrounds, emoji and text overlays.

Once you’ve recorded a clip and added effects to it, you can save the GIF to your storage or share it immediately via social networks.

It’s worth noting that the Android app doesn’t yet allow you to import video from your gallery to make GIFs with; it also doesn’t have the brand new IRL stickers, which can be applied to real-world objects or be set to follow your face around. However, Giphy told Engadget that video importing will arrive soon.

Giphy Cam is now available for free on Google Play.
