Following acquisition by Nokia HERE, Desti to shut down on September 3

When HERE, Nokia’s mapping division, acquired personalized travel planning app Desti in late May, the company said it would shut down the app in about 90 days. True to its word, Desti has notified users that the app will take a long sleep starting on September 3.

After that date, you won’t be able to search or access saved trips from within the app. Desti recommends that users share itineraries with themselves and other travel buddies in order to save them.

Like Siri and Nuance, Desti emerged as a spin-off of the SRI International research institute. Nokia plans to integrate Desti’s technology into its platform to make HERE’s location search more personalized and intelligent.
