Hours ago, the international trailer for ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ hit YouTube.

The film, set before 1977’s ‘A New Hope,’ is supposed to stand alone from the rest of the Star Wars storyline. It will, however, have connections to the larger story. One of these connections, Darth Vader, appears in his second trailer. Vader is supposed to have a limited role in Rogue One, it’s always interesting to see the rebirth of an iconic movie villain.

Rogue One’s new trailer focuses on the Erso family. In it, the story follows Jyn from childhood where she’s separated from her parents to adulthood where she prepares to embark in battle to destroy the newly built Death Star.

One of the scenes from childhood shows her mother giving her a crystal and saying ‘Trust in the force.” As iO9 points out, this could be a major plot point as rumors point to ‘kyber crystals’ — those used in lightsabers — being one of the key components of the Death Star.

How that ties into the storyline and what happened to Jyn’s father — rumored to be experimenting with the crystals — remains to be seen. But if you can’t wait, there are fan theories everywhere.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters December 16.
