Coding and publishing an app is thrilling, but then… the bugs! And version 2.0 with new, sometimes-functioning features and testing! To make life a little more streamlined, Twitter acquired popular app deployment service fastlane for use with Fabric.
Fastlane allows developers to better manage the onboarding for their final apps. You can create multiple avenues for testing with different audiences, and release updates to your beta testers quickly.
The company has also introduced a new tool, called Scan, which promises to provide fast mobile application testing.
Fabric dovetails nicely into fastlane by offering services like Crashalytics, which provides insight into why an app crashed. If you’re using other tools like GitHub, Bitbucket or Asana in your workflow, you’ll find Fabric integrated there as well.
Fastlane made its name as an iOS tool, but is now available for Android as well. It’s also remaining completely open source.
