Mobile back-end platform service Parse is hosting its first developer conference on September 5th in San Francisco. This is the first major event for the company recently acquired by Facebook. To make things interesting, Parse revealed that all ticket proceeds will be donated to CodeNow.org, a education service that provides computer programming courses to high school students.
Tickets for the conference are available starting today for $45, with a $10 discount for students. Parse says that speakers will include employees including co-founders James Yu, Ilya Sukhar, and Kevin Lacker. Facebook and developers from The Food Network, Sesame Street, and Over, are also lined up to present.
As with most developer conferences put on by companies like Dropbox, Twilio, New Relic, and others, Parse’s will include beginner and advanced sessions looking to build apps on its platform. Now that it’s also owned by Facebook, it might be worth seeing how much of an emphasis the conference places on the Facebook ecosystem — perhaps we might see a bigger push to build for Facebook Home?
The Parse conference is a one-day affair and will be held at the Marriott Marquis hotel in San Francisco.
