Facebook is testing emoji reactions – this is the ‘dislike button’

Facebook hinted that a ‘dislike’ button would be coming to the service soon, so you can add a reaction other than just the humble ‘like.’ Starting today it’s going to start testing exactly that in the real world.

TechcCrunch reports that users in Spain and Ireland will start seeing a new option when liking a post that allows the addition of a reaction sticker, just like Slack’s emoji reactions.

The Next Web previously reported on a patent that detailed how the new feature would work.

During the test in those countries, pressing the like button shows options for a variety of emotions like love, laughing, shocked, crying and angry. Finally we have a way to actually express emotion, rather than ‘liking’ even the sad posts that show in our feeds.
