Facebook is bringing the carousel format to mobile install ads.
The company says carousel ads have been quite successful on the desktop, equating to a 20-to-30 percent lower cost per click than boring old posts with just one image. Some advertisers have seen as much as 75 to 180 percent higher click-throughs.
The carousels support up to five images with links (including for app-installs), and are available today through the Facebook Marketing API.
Update: This article previously suggested carousel ads were new to the mobile apps on the whole. Updated to clarify it’s mobile install ads that are new.
