Elgato is rounding out it’s Eve lineup with Energy, a connected plug to help you monitor how much energy you’re using.

Eve Energy does what most connected outlets do; it occupies an outlet, and uses pass-through charging to monitor just how much energy you’re actually sipping from that outlet.

Naturally, there’s also a view in the Eve app for checking out how much energy you’re consuming via Eve Energy. IT also works with HomeKit, where you can add Energy to HomeKit scenes or create guest access.

Eve Energy will retail for $49.95 via Amazon and Elgato. It won’t make your connected home as smart as Nest or other gadgets will , but that’s not really Elgato’s aim, either.
