Viral Interactive Award at Dubai Lynx

Viral Interactive Award at Dubai Lynx

Dubai Lynx 2010 LogoAs the prestigious Dubai Lynx awards ended its 2010 round, a viral campaign by Memac Ogilvy & Mather won the Grand Prix for both Interactive and Craft categories at the Dubai Lynx Awards.

Congratulations goes out to the team who pulled off the Boga Cidre soft drink campaign, with a surprisingly effective and fresh concept to the region.

“Our challenge was to create interest around the new Boga Cidre campaign starring famous Tunisian actor Dhafer el Abbidine.” explains the advertisement agency,  “74% of our target audience possess an account on Facebook. To be in line with its communication habits as well as to suggest a modern and up to date attitude, we chose to make a viral teaser.”

A fake scene was shot and spread as a viral video on facebook, to create buzz for the advertisement that followed.

Also worth mentioning is the “Confessions of Corporate Spies” campaign led by Starcom Mediavest Group Dubai for Chevrolet winning them the Grand Prix for the Media and Integrated categories. Incidentally the same campaign I personally found annoying throughout its entire run. But then again, I must have been far from their target market.
