Remember the Milk was one of the first massively popular productivity app for years after it launched in 2005, before Wunderlist and Todoist even existed.
It fell off the radar when other apps, like Evernote and Any.do, began passing it out in terms of features and style.
However, Remember the Milk is making a comeback with a completely overhauled app. The company has built its software again from the ground up and the new version is available on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire, Blackberry, Mac and on the Web.
Version 4.0 also adds support for offline mode, meaning you can continue updating your tasks even if you don’t have an internet connection. You can now add a suggested start date for each task too so it will remind you when you should really get going.
All of your tasks can also be tagged and color coded to make it easier to keep your to-do list organized.
The company says there will be Linux and Windows apps launching in the near future and all of the platforms can be synced with each other so you can access your tasks wherever you go.
As well as launching on new platforms, the latest update has added a brand new Material Design UI and a number of other features like the ability to create subtasks and improved sharing options.
While these features are available on a number of productivity apps already, Remember the Milk was seriously lacking without them, and by launching on almost every platform, it shows the company is serious about becoming a contender again.
Remember the Milk isn’t making it easy for users to access the new features though. They have been kept behind a paywall, so if you want to avail of offline mode, customizable tag colors or even the subtasks, you’ll have to sign up for a Pro account.
If you want those options, it will now set you back $40 per year, but existing subscribers can continue on the old $25 rate until 2017.
