Consultancy company Accenture acquires Fjord, the agency behind Nokia.com and PayPal’s latest app

Consultancy company Accenture acquires Fjord, the agency behind Nokia.com and PayPal’s latest app

Massive business consultancy company Accenture has acquired Fjord, a london-based design agency. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Accenture, which is one of the one of the largest consulting firms in existence, claims that Fjord’s design capabilities will complement the services it already offers through Accenture Interactive. Beyond this vague statement, Fjord should further Accenture’s reach in the world of digital media, and this deal nicely follows Accenture’s acquisition of avVenta last year.

Founded in 2001, Fjord has played major roles in projects like the redesign of Nokia.com and the development of PayPal’s mobile apps.

Fjord also counts the BBC, Qualcomm and Telefónica as clients and has roughly 200 employees — tiny in comparison to Accenture’s 261,000 staff members.
