Today sees the launch of Commun.it, a brand new CRM service for Twitter that enables marketers and customer service reps to “build and nurture” relationships in a business context, by fusing smart filtering and easy-to-use engagement options.
Based in Tel Aviv, Israel, Commun.it is launching in public beta today featuring integration with Buffer, a service that allows users to auto-schedule tweets and facilitates ‘smart’ social sharing.
Commun.it has made it its mission to turn the stream-oriented world of Twitter to a relationship-oriented dashboard, enabling community managers and marketers to effectively analyze business relationships and gain actionable insights based on the company’s proprietary data sifting technology.
In other words, Commun.it says, it wants to build a ‘social MailChimp’.
Says Sharel Omer, co-founder and CEO of Commun.it:
“Social media has become instrumental in maintaining all kinds of business relationships: with customers, prospects, partners and more. Yet, so far tools to support this kind of relationship building and management have been sorely missing.
We aim to bring focus & clarity to businesses that use social media for maintaining relationships, keeping the personal aspect of it while attaining clear ROI and work processes.”
Omer argues that this makes Commun.it different from the likes of HootSuite, Engagor, Contaxio and TwitSpark.
More similar are offerings like Salesforce.com Social CRM, Nimble, SproutSocial, Conversocial, SugarCRM and Contactually (which is more focused on email).
Indeed, the Israeli startup is far from the only one in this space.
Commun.it says it brings something new to the table, having worked on creating sophisticated algorithms for analyzing business relationships for the past 2 years.
The service has been used in closed beta for over a year, and the company counts big names like Sony, Cisco, Citroen, HP, Dell, Nike and Volkswagen among its clients, according to its website.
Pricing for Commun.it starts at $9.99 per month for 4 Twitter accounts, and scales up to $199 per month for unlimited profiles.
