Convo announced today an update to its iOS app that adds new file sharing and annotation features to the business collaboration service.

The update represents Convo’s efforts to combine mobile, social and the cloud to help teams work together faster and better.

Convo rearchitected its app to handle PDF, Word and Powerpoint previews almost instantaneously. The company claims the app can now load a 6MB Powerpoint file in 2.8 seconds, compared to 80 seconds in the previous version. Once the file is open, you can highlight and annotate specific parts of the document.

If you want to share a file while away from your desk, now you can send files to Convo from cloud storage services Dropbox or Box. You’ll also now be able to share animated GIFs in Convo, so you can start trolling your coworkers with the latest memes.

Convo’s focus on mobile comes as its clients’ employees are doing an increasing amount of work from their phones. The service has seen a 110% increase in mobile usage over the past three months.

Disclosure: TNW uses Convo for its newsroom backchannel.
