Google has just released Chrome extensions into beta, at last. Extensions, the main last stumbling block for Chrome to take on Firefox as a major browser, has been removed.
You can play with, and find extensions here. Matt Cutts, of Google said it best:
Get them here! [update] These extensions are not available for the Mac version of Chrome. We assume that this goes for Linux as well.
Developers, one of the inital core user-communities of Firefox have long stated that they would not even consider using Chrome, until their development extensions were ported. That can now happen, opening Chrome to the real movers and shakers of the internet.
