A few short weeks after being acquired by Dropbox, Audiogalaxy has announced that it will shut down it music streaming service on January 31, 2013, as spotted by Engadget.
The move doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as the company locked down new signups when it announced the deal earlier in the month. At the time, Audiogalaxy also warned users that its Mixes feature would only be available until December 31.
Given that it’s now fully clear that Dropbox wasn’t interested in continuing to run Auiogalaxy, we’re all waiting to see what the cloud storage company puts the team to work on. Will it branch out into media and entertainment cloud services? Does it have its own streaming music service in the works? Maybe 2013 will hold the answer.
