Apple updates the Mac Mini, shipping today from $599

Today at Apple’s live event in San Jose, the company announced it has updated its Mac Mini, launching two new models with Intel i5 and i7 processors, which will start at $599.

The base model features a 2.5Ghz dual-core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM and 500GB HDD and costs $599, while the Mac Mini server will ship with a 2.3 GHz Quad-Core i7 processor, 4GB RAM and two 1-terrabyte hard drives – costing $999.

Inside, you will get 802.11N WiFi, Intel HD Graphics 4000, support for monitors up 2560 x 1600 resolution, an HDMI port supporting 1920 x 1200 resolution, the ability to add a 256GB SSD and a bump up to 16GB, as well as Bluetooth 4.0.

It’s still being touted at the world’s most energy efficient desktop. If you’ve been waiting for the Mac Mini refresh, they will be shipping from today.
