At its iPhone 7 keynote today, Apple announced that it will bring Felica, the Japanese version of NFC, to its iPhone 7 and 7 Plus handsets, as well as to the Apple Watch Series 2.

That will enable Apple Pay to work with payment terminals in Japan, as well as with Transit terminals like those for metro trains.

These features will become available late in October.
