Apple today confirmed the new emoji from the Unicode 10 update would be arriving on Apple devices later this year — and that it’s previewing them in celebration of World Emoji Day.
????? Happy #WorldEmojiDay! ? We’ve got some ? new ones to show you, coming later this year! ?? https://t.co/xBR9ZJ7l4g pic.twitter.com/fhDrr4J5KG

In case you haven’t seen them yet, the new emoji include zombies, fairies, a breastfeeding mother, and an exploding head. For a complete list, check our article covering the Unicode 10 emoji.
According to Apple:
More animals and mythical creatures like T-Rex, Zebra, Zombie and Elf are a fun way to describe situations and new Star-Struck and Exploding Head smiley faces make any message more fun.
Someone please send me an emoji using an Elf, because I want to see how one could accurately describe a situation using one — not involving binge-watching Lord of the Rings.
The emoji will be available on iOS, macOS, and watchOS.
Apple is also celebrating World Emoji day by having certain movie titles appear in emoji form on iTunes — hopefully including any and all zombie movies.
