Apple announces livestream of September 9 event

Apple is really going all out for the September 9 event. The company just announced that there will be a livestream of the event.

Apple is expected to announce new iPhones and a smartwatch available in two sizes. But don’t expect to fire up Chrome or Firefox to watch the video feed. Apple posted the following requirements:

Live streaming video requires Safari 5.1.10 or later on OS X v10.6.8 or later; Safari on iOS 6.0 or later. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.

We will be reporting live from the event, which begins on September 9 at 10am PT.
