Apple sends out invites for September 9 event: ‘Wish we could say more’

The rumors were true. Apple is holding a press event on September 9, where it will almost certainly announce the next iPhones. The company is also expected to unveil its long-awaited wearable next month, so it’s possible these two events are one and the same.

Invites have just been sent out to members of the press. There’s very little for us to pick apart, other than the cryptic message: “Wish we could say more.”

Reports suggest the next iPhone will come in two sizes. One model will have a 4.7-inch display, while another sports a 5.5-inch version. The current iPhone 5s, for comparison, only has a 4-inch display. We know it will run iOS 8 though, Apple’s refreshed mobile OS, and it’s likely to sport a different look.
