    Almost a month after AppGratis closed a $13.5m Series A funding round, the app discovery service has announced it has passed ten million users worldwide.

    The user-base reported last month was a mere seven million, so it seems it has been growing by around a million downloads a week. Indeed, since launching in the US back in December, AppGratis has secured more than two million users Stateside, and says it’s notching up an average of 500,000 new users each week in America alone.

    Just to recap, AppGratis is an iOS app for discovering new apps, with the team negotiating with developers to persuade them to make their app free for one day only.

    The company was founded in 2011 by Simon Dawlat, off the back of a daily email newsletter that was shared among friends, and which featured his top apps. Headquartered in Paris, AppGratis is now available in more than 120 countries and in the wake of its recent investment bounty, it says it’s planning to invest in new staff, expand its R&D efforts and continue to cement its reputation globally.

    In addition to its ten million users, the company says it’s now attracting an average of 3 million people each day, who connect to AppGratis in search of a deal.

    In terms of its potential to continue building relationships with developers, it says it drives between 500,000 to 1 million downloads, often single-handedly sending apps to the top of the App Store charts.

    For example, AppGratis featured EDGE Extended, an iOS game that normally costs $2.99, they claim that it secured more than one million downloads in 24 hours.
