After selling Inbox2 tech, founders return with cloud file-management app for iPad

Dutch entrepreneurs Khuram Hussain and Waseem Sadiq are at it again.

After co-founding social email service Inbox2 – one of the finalists of the 2010 The Next Web Startup Rally – and selling the technology to an undisclosed social network (all we know is that it has roughly 60 million users) late last year, they’re now focused on building a cloud file-management app called Fileboard.

(Not to be confused with social reading app Flipboard, obviously.)

Fileboard offers people, whether they use the iPad app personally or as part of a team in a professional context, a secure and unified view of files stored on cloud services like Gmail, Microsoft Exchange, Box, Evernote, Dropbox and Salesforce.

Furthermore, users can edit, annotate, share, legally sign and work together on documents in a safe, cross-repository environment wherever they take their iPad.

The company says it primarily targeting sales teams for medium- to large-sized organizations, enabling them to become more productive in their daily deal, document, contract and email workflow on the iPad.

The interesting thing about Fileboard is that it doesn’t matter if other team members use a different cloud service than you do – provided the service in question is supported by the company. Fileboard also supports almost any file or template type, including .docx, .doc, .pptx, .pdf, .zip and .xlsx, with .rar and .psd in the near future.

Fileboard has set up shop in Mountain View, California and has received seed funding (and more) from 500 Startups – the fledgling company was part of the global accelerator’s most recent batch of startups.
