Yahoo! has put out new statistics on users that visit Yahoo! on an iPad, saying that they have seen a 7x increase in iPad traffic since the iPad launched and finding that 34% of visitors are women, both in US and internationally (international numbers exclude Japan, where 80% of users are male).
Regarding age, 58% of visitors to Yahoo! US using an iPad are over 34 years old, with 28% 34-44 years of age, a 42% increase compared to their overall traffic numbers for this segment in the US.
According to the report, usage is shifting as well:
“While Flickr, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! News, and Yahoo! Sports are still popular; Yahoo! Groups, Yahoo! Shopping, and Yahoo! Travel increased 28%, 25%, and 22% respectively, compared to the Yahoo! iPad Early Adopters.”
However, internationally, iPad users are 3-4 times more interested in technology topics than in the US.
