You can now stream Sling on multiple devices at once

Dish Network’s Sling TV this morning announced a new multi-stream service in beta which lets subscribers watch on up to three devices at the same time.

The multi-stream service comes with live local content from Fox Networks – you can access local channels based on your zip code. A multi-stream subscription starts at $20 a month, just like the regular Sling base package. This should sure please Netflix-types who likely already share their passwords with friends, roommates, and family members.

The addition of Fox channels might also be useful for cord cutters who want to save on their cable bills but still crave local news like sports and weather reports, or Republican commentaries on the 2016 elections.

At launch, you won’t be able to adjust zip codes depending on where you’re traveling – those who are watching Sling outside of their zip codes will only be able to access on-demand content. It will also be available in select markets during its beta phase, but includes most major cities like New York, Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Tampa, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, and Washington, DC.
