Dropbox announces Carousel, a cross-device photo and video gallery

Dropbox today announced a new photo and video sharing gallery called Carousel that combines photos in your Dropbox account with those on your mobile devices and makes it easy to share them with your contacts.

The company says the service “isn’t constrained by the space on your phone,” though it’s not clear how storage will work between your Dropbox account and mobile photo backups.

You’ll be able to use the app to hold private conversations about your photos with friends, as well as add their photos to your own events.
