Continuous code platform Wercker grabs close to $1m seed funding to develop internationally

Continuous code platform Wercker grabs close to $1m seed funding to develop internationally

The cloud-based continuous Saas delivery platform Wercker has nailed down a seed funding round led by Shamrock Ventures. Though the amount remains undisclosed, a source close to the deal told The Next Web that the funding is close to the $1 million mark.

Additional funding in the deal came from Greylock Partners and Amsterdam-based micro VC, Vitulum Ventures.

Currently still in private-beta, Wercker provides a platform where developers can continuously deploy and integrate code more easily. The company says that the cash will go toward scaling its platform and operations in order to reach more developers globally.

For a full description of the service, you can check out the company’s video.

Wercker Overview from Lindsey Bateman on Vimeo.

Wercker says that its continuous Saas platform fills a gap where developers are relying upon services like GitHub to store and version their code and Paas applications to deploy it.

Wercker integrates a social networking element to its offering so that updates are more likely to flow and teams can see who is doing what with a high degree of transparency; something that should appeal to groups that work across different countries on the same projects.

Those who are interested in giving Wercker a try can apply for a beta invite to gain early access via the company website.
