Google today updated its Google Search app for iOS with the ability to ask questions with your voice and a slew of improvements focused on Google Now. You can download the new version now directly from Apple’s App Store.
First and foremost being able to ask more casual questions with your voice means you can have a “smarter” conversation with the app. To start, tap the microphone or say “Ok Google” (initial voice features were added back in October and handsfree voice controls were added in November). Now you can ask questions like “What’s the weather like?” and follow up with “How about this weekend?”
Google Now has also gained new cards that will surface interesting articles for your favorite topics, your upcoming trips, and your favorite authors and blogs. It has also gained support for cricket sports cards (following the Android update in March).
Google is also promising “more beautiful and fluid image results.” Last but not least, the app is now faster both in terms of the Google Search component as well as Google Now.
