PlayStation 4 and PS Vita coming to China on January 11

After a long wait, gamers in China are finally going to be able to get their hands on Sony’s PlayStation 4 console early next year. The PS4 and the PS Vita portable gaming system will be available in the country on January 11, reports Reuters.

Sony will retail the PS4 at $468 (2,899 RMB) and the PS Vita at $210 (1,299 RMB), with both available in black and white variants.

Along with Sony’s SCE Worldwide Studios, over 70 game developers and publishers are expected to launch titles in the country.

Foreign consoles were banned 14 years ago until this January, when the country’s State Council temporarily lifted the ban to allow foreign-invested manufacturers to make and sell game systems provided they secured government approval.

Sony has also confirmed that it will offer “a robust after-sales service” for customers, and also team up with Modian.com and Shanghai Oriental Pearl SUOLE Culture Development Ltd. to support Chinese game developers and help bring their content onto the PlayStation platform.
