TomTom’s newest GPS gets smart with Yelp, Expedia and Twitter integration

Navigation is an amazing thing, but it hasn’t changed a whole lot since we first started using it around 2002 or so. But if navigation mogul TomTom has its way, your nav is about to get a lot more connected.

The Amsterdam company’s newest model, the TomTom Go Live 1535M is looking to harness some Internet power in order to keep your friends in the know while providing you with more information. You’ll get apps like Google Local Search, Yelp, TripAdvisor and more so that you can find on-the-fly information about your destination. Beyond that, though, the new device will also automatically tweet your arrival if you tell it to do so.

There’s also fuel pricing, weather forecasts and hands-free calling via Bluetooth and voice guidance, and a 12-month subscription to live services is included in the $249 purchase price.

Now if only it could tell you whether or not there will be a load of other people’s kids inside of the hotel hot tub.
