Startup Safary offers guided tours of Europe’s startup cities

Startup Safary offers guided tours of Europe’s startup cities

As Europe’s startup communities grow and evolve, all sorts of activities are springing up around them, from StartupBus Europe to European Commission interest – but guided city tours? That’s a new one.

Startup Safary sees 20 entrepreneurs taken on a trip to visit successful tech companies in a particular city. The first one took place (under the name Startup Crawl) in Berlin last month, allowing participants to see ‘behind the scenes’ at SponsorPay, 9Flats, Fab and Delivery Hero.

The tours include an hour at each office, with the opportunity to ask questions and gain an insight into the companies’ culture and products. It’s a little like an in-person, interactive version of our Awesome Offices series.

Now Startup Safary is gearing up for trips to Krakow (next week), and Amsterdam and Cologne in January. Founders Maciek Laskus and Clarissa Steinhöfel have lined up gaming company Ganymede, pre-school education site Duckie Deck and social learning network Brainly for the Krakow tour, which takes place on December 6th. As with the Berlin event, it will end with an after-party.

You can register for the Krakow tour today, and follow the Startup Safary Twitter account for more information about the Amsterdam and Cologne tours as it becomes available. Entrepreneurs from anywhere are welcome – the Berlin event accepted participants from Poland, Italy, the US, the UK and Germany.

For a flavour of the tours, here’s the visit to Fab in Berlin last month. You can find other videos on the Startup Safary YouTube page.
