Lisa Gansky: A Successful Serial Internet Entrepreneur

A successful serial entrepreneur is a rare specimen. Lisa Gansky however is someone who deserves that title.

Lisa is not just a serial entrepreneur but also an Internet pioneer, angel investor, board member, serious innovator, provocateur, disruptor, and connector and we are very proud to announce today that Lisa will speak at The Next Web Conference 2010 about her experience as an entrepreneur, the future of the Web and her upcoming book: The Mesh.

Lisa is a founder and CEO of multiple Internet companies, including GNN (AOL) and Ofoto (Kodak). She consults to organizations including British Airways, EDS, General Motors, AOL, American Airlines, Bankers Trust, Nokia, Olivetti, Google, PayPal, Mozilla, and Yahoo!

At GNN — Gansky created the first commercial website, the first Internet-based advertising, and the first online transactions on the web. At Ofoto, she and her team developed the largest consumer photo sharing and print service in the world, with over 56 million customers and $165M in revenue. The company sold to Eastman Kodak in 2001 and now called Kodak Gallery, was the first to connect digital photo sharing with social networking, and to develop a sophisticated, high quality process for printing digital images via the web.

“Lisa Gansky, like Al Gore, didn’t invent the internet. But she co-created the first commercial website, developed the idea of advertising online, created online photo sharing and printing, and sold companies to both Kodak and AOL. Most important Gansky gets it. She sees around corners and describes a future that seems impossible… until you realize that it’s imminent.
