Instagram has released an update to its Hyperlapse app for iOS that will let you create timelapse videos using your front-facing camera. We’re not seeing the change log on the App Store just yet, but the update has shown up on our phones.
The feature works as expected, adding a small icon next to the record button. You won’t be able to switch cameras in the middle of recording, so you’ll have to decide beforehand whether you want to use “selfielapse” mode.
Instagram released Hyperlapse last month, offering an easy way to create moving timelapses. The software takes advantage of the main Instagram app’s Cinema image stabilization technology to give the videos a professional-looking feel.
