Paul Woods

Paul is the CCO of Edenspiekermann in Los Angeles, and an award-winning designer leading multi-talented teams at the intersection of brand and digital design. A former punk rock artist and an outspoken promoter of digital innovation, Paul will publish his new book, “Doing Great Work Without Being An Asshole” with London-based publisher Laurence King in February 2019. With a diverse background in both advertising and research-based product design, Paul and his teams create cutting edge work with clients in categories across editorial, finance, sustainability, and transportation. During his 15 years as a designer, Paul has been at the helm of industry-leading projects for companies like Google, Red Bull, Morgan Stanley, and Time Inc., among others. An advocate for the power of conceptual art direction and language, Paul places a hyper-focus on the user in everything he designs. As such, his work has been recognized by Awwwards, the Webbys, and other leading design institutions. In his spare time, Paul muses on the industry as a writer, speaker, and illustrator. He writes about the future of design and technology for the likes of Fast Company, The Verge, and Communication Arts. Paul is also co-founder of the satirical industry website Adloids, a frequent lecturer and jury panel member at events and design conferences like the International Society of Typographic Designers, the Awwwards conference, and more. Paul lives in Pasadena with his wife Nora and stubborn basset hound.
