Periscope updates its iOS livestreaming app, Android version coming soon

Periscope updates its iOS livestreaming app, Android version coming soon

Twitter’s new livestreaming iOS app Periscope been updated to display broadcasts from people you follow more prominently.

The updated app now displays broadcasts from people you follow at the top of your feed, so they’re easier to find in the ocean of streams from other Periscope users.

In addition, follower notifications are now turned off by default. The company says it’s working to add more granular control so you only get alerts you care about.

Plus, you can now choose not to share your location before broadcasting. If you do disclose where you are, the map display now gives a less precise indication of your location on a zoomed-out map view.

Periscope has also confirmed that it’s working on an Android version of its app. We’ve contacted Twitter to find out when that might arrive and will update this post when we hear back.
