Report: Apple to announce Amazon Prime Video on Apple TV at WWDC

As we reported last week, the stand-off between Apple and Amazon appears to be over. Rumors suggested that, at long last, Amazon Prime Video was coming to Apple TV. According to BuzzFeed News sources, it’s a certainty, and the announcement will happen at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

The heated battle between the two started with Amazon, which stopped selling Apple TV devices two years ago. It also banned Google’s streaming TV device, Chromecast. Worse, the company forbid third-party sellers from listing Apple TV and Chromecast on the site to avoid “customer confusion.”

Apple retaliated by not allowing Amazon’s video offering, Prime Video, on the device.

Today though, it appears hands were shaken and pleasantries were exchanged as the two worked out an agreement. We don’t know, however, when (or if) Amazon will once again sell Apple TV devices on the platform.
